NVGate® plug-ins for rotating machinery vibration analysis

From engine gearboxes to steam turbines, rotating machines sound and vibrations phenomena are related to their rotating speed. In order to handle these dynamic phenomena, OROS proposes a set of plug-ins.

Order Tracking and Order Analysis plug-in

Rotating machinery such as engines and turbines generate rotation related vibration, and displacements. The order analyses measure this phenomenon independently from their RPM related variation. This is achieved by synchronous re-sampling or constant bandwidth filters. Both methods have their applications permitting the OROS 3-Series order tracking to covers the widest applications measurements.

Synchronized Order Analysis (SOA) plug-in

Signals are resampled with a dedicated tachometer input to be converted to the order domain. Then the plug-in extracts complex orders (phase and amplitude) from fast run-ups and or coast-downs.
The setup of SOA does not require an expert user. You will get the right results immediately. Gearboxes generate modulated and difficult to discern vibration orders, which are not easy to extract.

Main Features

  • Up to 40 kHz bandwidth real-time analysis
  • Time domain filters (A, C, Integrators)
  • Adjustable keyphasor phase (edge/order 1)
  • Order or angular domain averaging
  • 1/32nd order resolution

Constant Band order Tracking (CBT) plug-in

Gearboxes generate modulated and buried noise and vibrations orders, which are not easy to extract. The CBT helps engineers getting those orders with the appropriate band pass extraction.

Shaft Rotation Speed Acquisition

Crankshaft, transmission axes, belts, gear boxes and machinery shaft speed must be measured carefully in order to resolve the right order or torsional analysis on it. The OROS 3-Series analyzers are experts for such measurements featuring the best tachometer acquisition set. First, the quality of shaft speed determination is ensured with the 2 oversampled tach inputs (< 152 ns resolution) included in each analyzer. Then RPM speed can be treated depending on the situation.

Integrated Torsional Vibration Testing

For torsional vibration and acyclic rotating analyses, OROS 3-Series analyzers integrate frequency to voltage converters for each tachometer input. With its integrator filter and a smoother, it delivers direct angular information to any plug-in.

Tachometer Math Editor for CVT

The combined tachometer editor (CTE) computes, in real-time, 2 different tachs with your own formula, providing the internal speed of a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

Gear Elements Rotation Speed Computation

The fractional tachometer computes the speed and phase of the output shaft of a gear’s line based on the input one.
